having seen bad reviews had reservations, but our experience was amazing - drivers were pleasant, welcoming and really helpful, helping with navigating the routes. If it wasn't for the Big Bus we would not have got to see all the sights we did. We only had 4 days and bought a 3 day pass - best decision ever! We used the bus as a transport system instead of walking for miles. Earphones worked well and commentary was crystal clear, with funny anecdotes which made the trips fun and the music inbetween was all 70's! Caution - for your first journey make sure to alight at a stop where there is a Big Bus staff member (in maroon) or you will not be able to print your ticket. Uptown comes every hour as there is less traffic and downtown once in 10 minutes as can get crowded, however we never had to wait very long before being picked up.

There was no heat on one of the buses going downtown. About 29 degrees outside. Audio was silly and not very informative. Mostly music. Hardly any stops going uptown. I have been on Hop On Hop Offs. Much better than Big Bus. Heard some people were stranded. Not good on a cold windy day.

Useful way to see the city but lack of real tour guide spoils the ride

We had used Big Bus in Dublin and so went with them in NYC. Booked on the app which was straight forward.

Buses were generally very busy, was disappointed by the lack of in person tour guide, the rolling tape with Reggie and his pals was a bit "simple simon" and often didn't relate to where we were in the tour, and we seemed to miss a lot of landmarks where nothing was said! Some of the head phone sockets didn't work.

Drivers were generally pretty gruff and didn't seem to like stopping.

Was a useful way to see the city but would have much preferred a real guide.
