For our second time in NYC we wanted to do something original and have not been disappointed!
This sailing tour is amazing, we are only 6 onboard which is great if you want to avoid the tourist crowd and the views of the city are amazing!
I would definitely do it again!

Bucket list experience, for NYers or tourists, adults or kids!

We can't recommend Brooklyn Sail or Ian (the owner/instructor) highly enough! Ian was so responsive and kind from the first email we sent him. He found a way to squeeze us in before the end of the season for a very special birthday sail for my husband, joined by our young kid. The sail was so fun, unforgettable, and educational for our whole family and kept our kid's attention. We learned so much (in an effortless, relaxed way) about sailing, safety, and even NYC history (despite having lived here for years). We also loved the parts of the sail when we just got to sit back, look around and enjoy the view. It made us want to come back ASAP for another sail. Definitely find a way to sail with Ian!

Sailing on the Hudson

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, this one is for you. What's better than spending the afternoon on a sailboat, gliding over the Hudson River and taking in the spectacular sights – Brooklyn Bridge, the city skyline, Statue of Liberty. The tour feels intimate, like going for a sail with a friend. We were lucky with the weather, it was a mild and sunny day in fall. But even with grey skies, I would have loved it – just make sure you bring warm clothes. This sail was definitely a highlight of our time in New York. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful way to capitalize on a gorgeous fall day in New York City! Ian was professional and super chill guy. He opened up the sail in the middle of New York Harbor! Got up close to Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Governor Island, Ellis Island, and Battery Park. Breathtaking! My girlfriend was very happy with her Instagram photos :) Thanks Brooklyn Sail!
